Justine and Josh booked me way back in June 2010. Although they booked me just for day-of coordination, every month or so since June I’d check in with her to see how the wedding planning was going. I’m glad I was able to help her stay on track.

The night before the wedding, the girls got ready at the Pasadena Westin, and their makeup and hair were done by Karen Lee.

Justine picked navy blue and blush pink for the wedding colors. Both ceremony and reception were held at the Calamigos Equestrian Center in Burbank.  We had planned for an outdoor wedding in the Equestrian Terrace, however, big storm hit LA that week and it poured on her wedding day. We had to move the ceremony indoors from the terrace. But rain means good luck!

Leah Lee, the photographer, captured some amazing photos despite the rain. Taka, the florist of BeBuds, quickly adjusted the decoration to accommodate the change. We added an arch draped with soft fabric and flowers, and an aisle runner with petals along the sides.

Justine wanted a very special ring ceremony, so we had the maid of honor and best man pulled a long ribbon from the altar all the way to the back of the room. Each guest at the aisle seat held the ribbon and the wedding rings was then passed down from the last row back to the officiant with their blessings. How cute is that!? It is definitely memorable for the guest to be able to participate in their wedding.

During the cocktail hour, we have to quickly transform the ballroom from ceremony to reception. (Thanks to the staff at the Equestrian Center, Virginia, Fernando, and Steve!) Justine ordered navy table overlays from LinenTablecloth.com that covered long banquet tables. The wedding favors are these cute silver fortune cookie place card holder.

The beautiful wedding cake was from Porto’s Bakery. The design originated from Martha Stewart Cakes. Justine surprised Josh with a grooms cake that she ordered from Hotcake Bakes. It’s an In-n-Out cake! “In-n-Out. In-n-Out. That’s what a hamburger is all about!” The mini shake, fries, and cheeseburger made of gum paste are sOoOoooo cute!

The rain did not dampen this wedding reception. DJ Orion of Legend Entertainment had the guests moving and dancing. The guests especially enjoyed fun props and a photo booth by Instabooths.
