Modern Japanese Wedding Invitation Suite

Modern Japanese Wedding Invitation Pink Purple

Let’s start with this gorgeous invitation suite and stationery set designed by La Design Boutique, which featured modern geometric lines, bold colors, and elegant florals that correlated with the Japanese culture and style of the wedding. All of the designs were clean and minimal, yet fresh and eye-catching. The invitation suite included an invitation card that was double mounted on gold and fuchsia cardstock, an informational card, and an RSVP card, all wrapped in an asymmetrical booklet fold and tied up in gold twine with a gold charm that represented a family emblem. The suite was packaged in a metallic purple envelope with a golden envelope liner and custom designed labels. The stationery for the wedding included individual place cards with hand-folded origami cranes, menu cards with matching design, and metallic pink Japanese lanterns serving as table numbers.

Modern Japanese Wedding Ceremony Paper Crane Arch

Modern Japanese Wedding Ceremony Garden Paper Crane

Our ceremony arch and table centerpieces were arranged by Creative Floral Designs, who used a mixture of roses and hydrangeas in soft shades of blush, lavender, and white. All of the floral arrangements also featured some whimsical blooms, inspired by traditional Japanese Ikebana floral arrangements. Strands of hand-folded paper cranes featuring classic origami paper prints were hung off of the floral circle arch to add a touch of Japanese culture to the ceremony design.

Wedding Cocktail Lounge

Everyone always tells me that they want to skip decorating the cocktail hour space since guests are only there for an hour, but we all know that 1 hour of waiting should be even MORE extravagant so that they’re mesmerized by the decoration and appetizers and drinks, right?  We hung the colorful lanterns in various sizes to fill the space. The white lounge furnitures are decorated with color coordinating pillows. So pretty!

Our bride wore two different bridal gowns, one for the ceremony with a Japanese kimono inspired sash and one for the reception. Both dresses are from La Soie Bridal. The ceremony gown, Blue Ivalo, is a soft English tulle net mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline, detailed crystal sequined straps, and a beautiful soft low v-back. The La Soie Kassia gown is a beautiful beaded lace sheath mermaid gown with an illusion sweetheart neckline and a detailed illusion low v-back.

Groom’s Attire

As for the groom, the idea of creating a traditional Japanese feel that embodied the culture of the shoot, while also making it modern was an interesting concept for us, which made styling the groom an interesting process. Friar Tux Shop is always looking for ways to help couples get the look of their dreams with their products. Together, we decided to keep the ensemble neutral but spiced it up a bit by mixing a black tuxedo coat with grey pants and a grey bow tie. By adding this contrast, it mimics the traditional Hoari worn in Japanese culture, but the look is also formal since the groom is wearing a tuxedo.

Modern Japanese Wedding Favor

Additionally, traditional Japanese confectionery called “wagashi” inspired the wedding favor. We filled the lacquer boxes with delectable sweets from Japan, including a mix of fruit jelly dessert and traditional sweet bean cakes. The colorful packaging really brings out the festivity. For a real wedding, guests would be delighted to take one of these favors home! Want to know where I got them? The lacquer boxes were from Daiso ($1.50 each), the desserts are from J Sweet, a specialty counter you’ll find inside Mitsuwa Market Plazas.

Modern Japanese Wedding Reception Tablescape

The Thousand Cranes Ballroom oversees the beautiful garden and waterfall. With all the blinds pulled up, it has a gorgeous view! We used satin fuchsia table linen for the guest tables and added a translucent sequin overlay for the sweetheart table.

Adding a vintage crystal wine glass and purple water goblet to each place setting. Complete with gold bamboo shaped utensils.

Modern Japanese Sweetheart Table

The sweetheart table is usually the focal point in the reception room. All eyes will be on the bride and groom, so I usually recommend you splurge a little on the design of the sweetheart table.

Wedding Rings

For rings, Princess Jewelers provided a very beautiful and petite leaf inspired 14K Rose Gold setting accented with white diamonds and adorned with an even more beautiful round peach colored Morganite gemstone.

The groom wore an 8mm two-tone Tungsten wedding band from ALT RINGS ROCK, featuring a beautiful brushed mocha brown outside with a grooved center that is a beautiful and shiny rose gold. For an added bonus, the entire sleeve of the ring also has a remarkable and shiny rose gold color that coordinated with the bride’s ring.
