It was my mother-in-law’s birthday! She flew in from Taiwan to visit, I thought it would be awesome to throw her a mini birthday bash. I recently came about a fancy journal from HomeGoods that has a chalkboard look and decided to use the design for this event.
I created a giant birthday card (one that would fit in hers suitcase to take back to Taiwan) and had it printed on PVC (Plastic board) at Costco for less than $20. It turned out pretty nice! Since the celebration took place in a restaurant, I opted to go with smaller table decor but still has the wow and personal effect. I filled up small black votive holders with white/black daisies and each vase has a photo of Genny from the past, then stuck a T pin and tied a helium latex balloon. It was fun and easy! We bought her an iPad mini and I wrapped it with white and dressed it up with printed paper lace.
