Congratulations #Robary! We helped Mary & Robert with their month-of planning and added a little more details to the overall wedding design. We love tech savvy couples! Mary & Robert did all of their planning using Google Drive. It was so easy to collaborate on the timeline and various details over the phone and see the spreadsheet update in real time. We highly recommend going digital!
Cindy and her team from UCI University Club provided impeccable services, going above and beyond to make sure everything is set up and on time. We loved working with them!

The ceremony was held outdoor under the gazebo, adorned with wild flowers in yellow and white. The aisle decor were alternating hanging floral arrangement in mason jars and burlap bows. The bridal bouquet and boutonnières are also wrapped in burlap and lace.
Mary and Robert incorporated their heritage into their wedding ceremony, so all of their guests can experience the Chinese/Cambodian tea tradition. It is respectful to offer both parents tea and in return the parents will gift the couple with red envelopes. Mary and Robert also had a wine box ceremony to signify their union and promise to each other. Mary loves wine, Robert loves Whiskey, they locked two of their favorite bottles in a wooden crate, along with their written vows, to be opened years from now on their anniversary.
Mary’s gown was custom made from China, through an online shop, CoralsBridal.com. The process was difficult with sending over the measurements and communication with time differences, but the quality and final product was beyond satisfactory for the price paid. The bridesmaid dresses were a collection of navy lace knee length dresses from Forever 21 and H&M. YES! Summer dresses that didn’t break the bank and the girls can wear over and over again.
Robert ordered a fitted suit from UK on Asos.com. The suit fits perfectly without much tailoring. The groomsmen got their suits from 3 Day Suit Broker. They all wore different socks as you can see from the picture below.
The reception used a mix of round and rectangular tables, with the sweetheart table on a platform. Mary opted for white linens with burlap and lace table runners. All of the centerpieces were a variety of small and large floral arrangements in tin cans, mason jars, and wooden boxes.
We reused the altar floral arrangement to decorate the sweetheart table. We made a custom burlap banner with the initials of the bride and groom. Make your own by following these instructions on Little Birdie Secrets blog.
Mary looked all over etsy for the perfect cake topper, but they were either too ornate or too expensive. She ultimately found the perfect wooden owl set from Michael’s. The cake was propped up on a wooden crate. We brought our “I Do” wooden letters to jazz up the table a bit and adding a splash of color with ruffled satin yellow fabric. We wrapped the handles of the cake knife and server with jute twine and decorated each with lace rosettes.
The rest of the night was filled with traditional Cambodian songs, dances, money dance, a special line dance performance by the bride dedicated to the groom, glow sticks, and photo booth fun. Guests were served delicious sorbet as dessert and ending the party with a midnight snack – french fries and ketchup.
