If you’re not into the big bridal shows at convention centers or hotel ballrooms, you have to check out the more intimate version at The Big Fake Wedding.
The Big Fake Wedding travels around the nation and put on shows at the coolest venues. The Los Angeles venue for this year was at the City Club LA. Attendees were the “wedding guests” and got to see the participating wedding vendors in action. Many wedding guests were engaged couples, there were also many wedding vendors, such as myself, looking to broaden our network. The show started with awesome entertainment from Ben Mallare Acoustic. This may sound a bit cheesy, but he sang all of my favorite lovey dovey sweet tooth wedding songs! =) The bride and groom were Tina & Roy, a real couple renewing their vows. It was a short and sweet ceremony, and their little 13 month old was dancing the night away.
The theme for the was Schoolhouse. As you’ll see from the pictures I took (sorry not very good quality), lots of designs using apples, chalk boards, and various school material. My team and I had a blast and we even met up with some of our fellow wedding planner friends. The photo booth by Shutter Nonsense was fun! The beautiful rustic wedding cakes were provided by Mwokaji Cakery, they’re almost too pretty to eat! Peanut Butter Jelly Cookie by Eddie’s Yummy Goodies. One of my favorite invitation designers from the show was the vintage-inspired stationery by Go Go Snap! Okay, enough blabbing, here are the photos:
