Floral preservation is one way to save your bridal bouquet as a keepsake. There are different methods to preserve your flowers and different types of displays you can choose from.

We’ve put together a guide with tips on how you can preserve your bouquet from your special day, whether you choose to go with the DIY route, or if you decide you’d like to reach out to a professional.

Before You Begin

  • Decide what you would like to do with your preserved florals
  • Find a space in your home to display the finished product
  • Purchase your supplies and tools before beginning your project
  • Store your flowers out of direct sunlight after your event
  • Be prepared to lose some flowers during the process

Types of Display

  • Miniature version of your bouquet in a display box or dome
  • 2D layout of your bouquet in a shadow box frame
  • Individual flowers or petals from your bouquet arranged into a shadow box
  • Pressed flowers arranged in resemblance of your bouquet and framed
  • Potpourri in pretty jar or vase
  • Add a cluster of flowers from your bouquet into an ornament ball

Professional Preservation

You can reach out to local floral preservation companies who specialize in preserving wedding bouquets. If you decide to go with this route, here’s what you can expect:

  • Plan ahead. Reach out to the floral preservation company before your wedding date and put down a deposit. This ensures that they will be available to work on your flowers after your event.
  • It’s best if they receive your bouquet no later than 2 days after the wedding
  • Not all types of displays can be shipped
  • Pricing can range anywhere from $150 to $300*, depending on the size of the bouquet and the style of preservation

*Prices are subject to change. Please reach out to your local vendors for a custom quote.

DIY Preservation

Lastly, if you want to go with the DIY route, here’s an article on preservation using silica gel, which you can find from retailers such as Michael’s or Amazon.
