Debra and Claude are software engineers who live together in Atlanta, but decided to have their wedding in Debra’s hometown in Los Angeles. They loved the Japanese rooftop garden setting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Downtown, LA, and got married there on a beautiful summer day and jetted off to Japan for their honeymoon right after.
Their ceremony was held in the upper Kyoto garden for 125 guests. The hotel’s white arch was dressed with lush white and green hydrangeas, with pops of blush and white orchids, matching Debra’s beautiful cascading orchid bouquet. Debra and Claude decided to honor some of the traditional Burmese customs, and added a bowing ceremony to their special day. During the cocktail reception, they even entertained their guests with a live Jazz band!
The reception was held in the gorgeous Thousand Cranes Ballroom, with it’s large glass windows that look out into the Kyoto Garden. The couple kept it simple with ivory table linens and navy napkins, with classic white orchid centerpieces. Debra and Claude also decided they wanted to have a bit of fun with their reception, and included karaoke as an activity for their guests. It was an entertaining evening for everyone, seeing friends and family go up to sing! Claude even sang a song just for Debra!
Debra and her family also changed during the reception into traditional Burmese wedding attire. The details on her dress were gorgeous! Overall, it was a beautiful wedding with tons of entertaining moments!
